CC Sabathia throws bullpen session

CC Sabathia is one step closer to coming back healthy. The lefty threw about thirty pitches in a bullpen session Monday. This is his first action since going on the DL with inflammation in his knee, also known as arthritic knee. He will throw another bullpen session sometime soon before facing hitters.

Sabathia hasn’t been great this season, but an experienced LHP in the Yankees’ arsenal can never hurt. Many have questioned his role on the team, thinking manager Joe Girardi should move him to the bullpen. With guys like Nathan Eovaldi and Luis Severino mowing batters down, this idea is building traction.
