Chamberlain Has “Another Good Day”

Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain (rehabbing from Tommy John surgery) described his outing today as “another good day”. Chamberlain threw 20 pitches off a half-mound at the Yankees minor-league complex in Tampa, Florida. It’s the third time Chamberlain threw off the five-inch mound and is expected to have another session this Friday.

Chamberlain is one of many Yankee pitchers working out at the minor-league complex in advance of spring training, which starts Monday for pitchers and catchers. Phil Hughes, Micheal Pineda, Ivan Nova, David Robertson and Cory Wade are among the other pitchers in early workouts.

Joba is not expected to break camp with the club at the end of spring training, but he his hopeful that he can return to the team before the all-star break.
