Eric Chavez (Concussion) Placed On 7-Day Disabled List

The Yankees utility player, Eric Chavez, has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion, tweets Erik Boland.

The oft-injured Chavez suffered the injury during last night’s game when he dove for J.J. Hardy’s double down the third-base line.

While batting in the bottom of the fifth, Chavez experienced dizziness and had to be helped off the field by Manager Joe Girardi and Assistant Trainer Mark Littlefield.

Also, Joba Chamberlain has been moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Jayson Nix on the 40-man roster. Nix was called up earlier today from the Empire State Yankees.
