Report: Tyler Clippard unavailable due to death in the family

If the Yankees need the bullpen tonight, they unfortunately won’t have Tyler Clippard as an option.

Prior to the series premiere against the Houston Astros, the Yankees announced Clippard wouldn’t be with the team due to the death of his grandmother. He is expected to be with the team tomorrow.

After a tough June pitching-wise, Clippard got back on the right foot by striking out the side in his latest appearance against the Chicago White Sox.

Clippard is currently 1-4 with a 4.55 ERA in 31.2 innings.

Along with the Clippard news, the Yankees announced they optioned Ronald Herrera to Triple-A, and called up Bryan Mitchell and Miguel Andujar.
