The Yankees have apparently ordered a background check according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The latest Yankees speculation comes after a very quiet Winter meetings showing, and losing out on multiple coveted players. Josh Hamilton would certainly be a monster splash for the Yankees, however, it would most likely take a contract exceeding four years. The Mariners and Rangers are still very involved with Hamilton. We will update the article as more information comes to pass.
