The Cubs have “won out for” Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler.
The Yankees “tried,” but were ultimately outbid by the Cubs and new team president Theo Epstein. Soler also drew interest from the Dodgers, Braves, Blue Jays, Red Sox and Phillies, among other MLB clubs. The 20-year-old corner outfielder is likely to get his professional career underway in Low-A ball.
