Yankees re-sign Domingo German

The Yankees have re-signed pitcher Domingo German, whom they non tendered on December 3rd. He was acquired in the Nathan Eovaldi deal, but missed the 2015 season due to Tommy John surgery. If the 23 year old right hander was in the Yankees’ system but not on the 40 man roster, he would have been Rule 5 eligible. He was one of the Marlins’ top pitching prospects beforeย his surgery, so the potential is still there. German was targeted by a few teams after New York non tendered him. Expect him to mostly see action in Single-A Tampa next season.

In 2014, German had a 2.48 ERA in just over 123 innings of work.
