Yankees to call up Brandon Drury from Triple-A

With the Yankees facing three left-handed pitchers this weekend, they decided it was time to bring up a Major Leaguer who was simply stuck in the minors.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Yankees plan to call up Brandon Drury for their weekend showdown against the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees already sent Luis Cessa down to Triple-A following his Wednesday start against the Philadelphia Phillies.

With Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres making a statement at the Major League level, the Yankees initially had no room to bring Drury back following his rehab assignment. As a result, Drury played 47 games and hit .315/.419/.494 with five homers and 28 RBI. Drury recently made the Triple-A All-Star team which is a hollow accomplishment given the fact he’s a Major League player. Now, Drury returns to the Bronx with hopes of sticking to the Major League roster for the remainder of the season.
