Brett Gardner (elbow) is expected to return to the Yankees on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
Gardner is scheduled to play rehab games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday and Tuesday, and could return to the Yankees’ active roster Wednesday if both of those go well. The fleet-footed left fielder has been sidelined for about three weeks with a right elbow strain. He’s batting .321 with a .424 on-base percentage and two stolen bases in nine games this season.
