The Dog Days of Spring Training – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #5

We’re smack in the middle of the Spring Training grind with Opening Day two weeks away. There has been some recent news though, and Scott and I do our best to break it down.

In this episode we talk about Tanaka’s past start and if the team is just waiting for the inevitable to happen — Tommy John surgery. We’ve already seen it to a number of guys around the league this spring, so we’re holding our breath that it wont happen to Tanaka.

Jacoby Ellsbury is sidelined with an oblique injury for a week, and we hope that is the extent of it or else the Yank’s are going to suffer in CF.

We also size up the AL East competition. Scott and I differ on the Orioles and Rays but realize this division is probably going to be competitive to the end of the season. The Red Sox made the most moves this offseason, and the Blue Jays are still waiting to take the next step (probably never going to happen).
