Some Guy Named Alex Rodriguez – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #3

Love him or hate him, everyone has an opinion on ARod. Rich Kaufman joins Andrew and Scott to talk about the past year of ARod’s life, expectations for this year, and if the Yankees would just be better off cutting him.

New Season, New Podcast – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #1

Yankees Offseason Recap – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #2

  1. Any record broken by Alex Rodriguez will be handled the same way it was when Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth’s record. Many fans will hate it, some will love… it’ll just happen. Yankee Stadium wasn’t sold out when Maris broke the record… think about that. And Maris didn’t even cheat!!

  2. Exactly, BCap! Listen, Ive hated Arod since he was porking Madonna literally while his wife was delivering their new child BUT with that being said. Let’s just admit, this guy was gonna reach those milestones (anyway) WITHOUT shooting up! PEDS do not just magically make a scrawny kid be able to hit 450 ft homers right? His raw athletic excellence is undisputable (i cant spell). So yes, the drugs made him stronger. Yes they probably affected his power hitting, making him almost super human. There were a ton of other, not-as-high-profiled players on that same list but because he’s AROD its a big deal. I cant believe Im defending him but like us as Yankee fans have been absolutely spoiled rotten with having stand-up guys off the field & stand-out players on the field….Mo, Jeter, Ford, Gehrig, Rizzuto. Ya know there’s the Mick who everyone loved although he was wilder & rough around the edges, to say the least. But NY loved him. Its interesting to think about if steroids were around back then & Mick did them, how fans would have reacted vs. how they are to Arod now. Arod is basically a modern day Mickey (personality & celebrity wise) , without the consistency. So for whatever reason, NY doesnt love Aroid. This was bound to happen. We’ve been too lucky. Not everyone can be as nice and sweet and as “Father of the Year” as Mark Teixeira. Ty Cobb was practically a rapist murderer and the devil in human form. No one talks about Josh Lueke’s sodomy scandal. How about the newly voted to Cooperstown, Randy Johnson who’s a dead beat dad. & How about Josh Hamilton with the drugs? I say you can throw an asterisk after all of his milestones and blah blah but at the end of the day, if he can help NY get to the playoffs this year BY GONE I’ll be there applauding him along the way. If he helps my team WIN, thats all Im worried about as a fan. He’s deff not the first good player who was a shitty person and he’s deff not the first who has cheated. Shit, all he needs to redeem himself for me this year, is one Aaron Boone/Raul Ibanez dinger to advance us in the playoffs and Ill take my Arod jersey out of the attic and wear it proudly. I don’t care if he’s on the DL the entire season & in the playoffs randomly has 1 pinch homer, that’s all I need. One time. In the grand scheme of things- we want to win, not have a group of standup, mediocre numbered guys who spend more time with charities than on the field. We want to win. We need to win. If he helps us do that, screw it! #FORG1V3*

  3. He’s not gonna go down in the history books with the caliber of the Jeters or Marianos but WHY DO I CARE? He ruined his own reputation/history. That doesn’t really bother me. What bothers me is when my team CANT SCORE WITH NO OUTS & RISP, so can I get an A-Bomb from A-Rod?!? #TeamArod rant over…
