If you’re a sports fan, this weekend was about as good as it gets. The Kentucky Derby and the “fight of the century” was on Saturday, NHL and NBA playoff games were happening all weekend, fans of sucky NFL teams got over-excited about players they’ve never heard of, and of course…the Yankees and Red Sox were battling at Fenway. Scott and I talk about the epic sports weekend and the past week of Yankees baseball.
This week I recorded from Vegas. We kick the podcast off talking about all the action, including a Kentucky Derby victory and let-down of a fight.
In other news, the Yankees are still playing good baseball and winning series. They took 2 of 3 from Tampa at the Stadium, and McCann has been getting some big hits for this team. The top of the order is killing it and of course, the back end of our pen is UNHITABLE.
ARod finally got 660 in Boston on Friday in the best way possible — rubbing it in the face of every Red Sox fan out there. It looks like the Yanks still are not going to pay the milestone bonus, but we think its best if ARod and the Yanks just move on.
Unfortunately there was some bad news last week. Tanaka went on the DL and will be shut down for a month with forearm/wrist soreness. We discuss all the possible outcomes and different ways to look at that injury.
On Wednesday we have a special episode. Scott and I talked to Cousin Brewski, who has been a Yankee Stadium beer vendor for 43 seasons! He’s seen it all and is a really fun guy to talk to, so keep an eye out for that podcast.
