Yankees Spring Training Game 24: Ichiro brings in one in loss

New York Yankees 1 — Philadelphia Phillies 4

 

Ichiro Suzuki brought in the only run in today’s 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

 

Ichiro is hitting .382 in his first Spring Training with the Yankees and brought in the Yankees only run with a double into left field in the 4th inning. Brett Gardner went 1 for 3 and scored on the double in the 4h inning. The rest of the Yankees, including Youkilis, Hafner, Boesch, and Stewart, all were hitless in this game.

 

Adam Warren started today’s game and had difficulty in the 4th inning. After a leadoff home run by Dominic Brown, his 6th of the Spring, he he would give up a pair of hits and a walk before exiting the game. Warren gave up two runs on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Former Texas Ranger, Michael Young brought in a run in the 6th inning and Ryan Howard went deep against a left-handed pitcher in the 7th inning.
