Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. I’ll admit it feels a bit silly, lauding the power of the pinstripes when they were shelled by the Texas Rangers by a final count of 15-4. The Yanks did manage to park a couple of long balls nonetheless.
Down 13-0 in the sixth, Carlos Beltran went big fly against Nick Martinez, a solo shot to get the Yanks on the board. It was Beltran’s third of the season, 18th as a Yankee and the 376th of his career.
In the ensuing frame, Didi Gregorius went yard for the second time in as many contests, belting his second of the season. Also homering off Martinez, the solo round tripper was his second as a Yankee and home run number 15 on his career.
This season the Bronx Bombers have 52 home runs.
