Bronx Bombers home run alert

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. Even with a marquee pitching tilt between Masahiro Tanaka and Max Scherzer, there were still plenty of home runs. Stephen Drew went yard twice for the Yankees and (future Yankee) Bryce Harper went deep for the Washington Nationals. All in all it was a 6-1 victory for the Yanks and their seventh straight win.

During the third inning, Drew jumped on a 2-2 offering from Scherzer and drilled a home run to right. It was Drew’s eighth of the season and gave the Yanks a 1-0 advantage.

Capping off the scoring in the eighth inning, Drew swatted a 2-1 pitch to right, off Taylor Hill. The solo seat seeking missile was Drew’s ninth of the year and increased the Yanks lead to 6-1.

Drew’s nine home runs rank second by second sackers in all of major-league baseball.

On the year the Bronx Bombers have 76 round trippers.
