Bronx Bombers home run alert 661

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. A majestic, marketable milestone? Yankee Stadium fans felt it was worthy of a standing ovation and a curtain call.

Alexander Emanuel Rodriguez, passed Willie Howard Mays, into sole possession of fourth place on the all-time MLB home run list, hitting home run number 661 in his career.

A-Rod, who almost homered in the first inning, went yard to deep center, against Baltimore Orioles starter Chris Tillman, in the third inning. The solo bomb gave the Yanks a 3-2 edge, on their way to a 4-3 victory.

A-Rod now has 316 home runs in his Yankee tenure. On the campaign, A-Rod has seven home runs in 27 contests, matching his totals from 2013, when he hit seven in 44 games.

The Bronx Bombers now have 35 home runs on the season.
