Bronx Bombers home run alert Fenway Parked

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. Bolstered by an eight-run outburst during the second inning, the Bronx Bombers rode five round trippers, in a 13-8 victory against the Boston Red Sox.

Getting the Yankee offense rolling in the second was Greg Bird. Facing Henry Owens with one on, Bird said bye by birdie with a liner to right. Bird’s third was the word and gave the Bronx Bombers a 2-1 edge.

Ensuing batter John Ryan Murphy followed suit with a solo smash to left-center. Murphy’s second of the season, extended the Yankees advantage to 3-1.

Capping off the frame, Carlos Beltran smacked a two-run opposite field drive off Ryan Cook and over the Green Monster. Beltran’s 14th of the year, made it 8-1 New York.

The next inning, Stephen Drew and his push for .300 continued. Much like another second baseman who wore 14, Pat Kelly, in September of 1995, Stephen kept up his magic voo-Drew. With two on, Drew drilled a three-run laser to right, off Cook, increasing the Yankees lead to 11-1. It was Drew’s 17th long ball on the campaign.

Jumping to the fifth inning, Didi Gregorius hopped on a Heath Hembree offering and smashed a solo shot to right-center. Gregorius’ eighth of the season gave the Bronx Bombers a 12-1 advantage.

The Bronx Bombers have 175 home runs.
