The Yankees have added another left handed outfield bat to the competition. Days after being released from the Tigers, Jon Heyman has reported that the Yankees sign Boesch to a $1.5 million major league deal. Boesch will compete and most likely be heavily involved in the left field platoon until Curtis Granderson is back in the lineup healthy. The 27-year-old Boesch batted .240/.286/.372 with 12 home runs and a .659 OPS in 132 games last season. A solid, YOUNG, signing for the Yankees that provides another bat that is well suited for the short porch in right field of Yankee Stadium.
