Mark Teixeira is starting to inch towards a return, as he is finally playing in extended spring training games. Teixeira went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, according to his twitter feed.
Teix is aiming to be activated on May 31st, however the Yankees may take things slow which could push back his return to early June. Manager Joe Girardi has said that Teix’s rehab assignment will take longer than Curtis Granderson’s, who only appeared in a handful of minor league games.
Felt good to get my first AB’s since March. 1-2 with a double and a walk, I’ll take it. #Yankees in first place, I’ll take that too!
