In Part II we continue our talk with Dan Pfeiffer (@danpfeiffer74) about the Baby Bombers.
We kick it by asking Dan if he thinks Refsnyder or Pirela will be taking Stephen Drew’s job any time soon. We all know Drew is not going to get anyone too excited so I think everyone wants to see a little young blood at second this summer.
Dan also tells us about Jorge Mateo, a young shortstop in the system that should make us feel better about the fact that Moncada signed in Boston. Clearly the Yankees didn’t want to extend themselves for him, and Mateo might be a big reason why.
There’s probably a number of guys we didn’t touch on that might make a name for themselves in the next couple of seasons, so we’re definitely going to get an update later in the season on the prospects from Dan.
