Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. The buildup was there but it was pretty much a walk in the park for the Bombers, against the last place team, three hours and 22 minutes to the north. The Yankees shut down the Boston Red Sox, 5-1. Alex Rodriguez, an All-Star if he played for a team hailing from Missouri, smacked one over the Green Monster and it set the tone for New York.

Facing Clay Buchholz in the first frame, A-Rod launched home run number 17 of the season, giving the Yankees a 1-0 advantage. A-Rod through 80 games, is one home run away from equaling his 2012 total of 18 in 122 games. Rodriguez has 671 home runs on his career and 326 as a Yankee.

On the season, the Bronx Bombers have 112 home runs.
