Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. Live by the homer, die by the homer, live by the homer. Such was the case with the Bronx Bombers in their weekend series against the Seattle Mariners. Finishing off the M's on Sunday, the Yanks got a big drive from Mark Teixeira, in a 2-1 victory.
Knotted at one in the eighth, Teixeira knocked out a 1-2 fastball from Fernando Rodney, giving the Yanks a 2-1 advantage they'd never relinquish. It was home run number 23 on the season for Tex.
Also homering in the series for the Yanks, Chris Young (11), Alex Rodriguez (19) and Brian McCann (15).
On the season the Bronx Bombers have 120 home runs.
