Baltimore Orioles 5 -- New York Yankees 0

With the 15-consecutive winning decisions on the line for Ivan Nova, the Yankees fell to the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 5-0.

Ivan Nova went 6.1 innings and was not able to escape jams like many are accustomed to. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits and 4 walks, unusual for Nova who has been showing more control as his strikeout numbers have increased while his walks have decreased. Nova came into tonight's game with 15-consecutive winning decisions; his last loss came in June 2011.

The Yankees offense did not show up to support Nova. Orioles starter Jake Arrieta went a career-best 8 innings and held the Yankees to 5 hits with no walks and 9 strikeouts. Alex Rodriguez managed to get 2 of the 5 hits tonight. The Yankees didn't have a single runner reach second base so they didn't have an at-bat with runners in scoring position. The offense was completely non-existent in this three-game series as they scored a total of 3 runs and they came on a solo home run and two-run home run in the previous games of this series.

Win - Jake Arrieta (2-2)

Loss - Ivan Nova (3-1)
