The Yankees will hold a press conference on Tuesday where Jorge Posada will officially announce his retirement from Major League Baseball, tweets Mark Hale.
Posada spent his entire 17 big league career with the Yankees (1995-2011).
For his career Posada hit .273 with 275 home runs and 1,065 RBIs, winning the Silver Slugger Award five times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007) as best hitting catcher in the American League. Also, Jorge had five All-Star nominations (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007).
