Russell Martin filed for $8.2 million, while the Yanks offered $7 million; Brett Gardner filed for $3.2 million and the club offered $2.4 million; and Boone Logan asked for $2.1 million and was met with a $1.7 million offer.

Martin earned $5,375,000 last season, his first year with New York. Gardner made $529,500 and Logan earned $1.2 million. Players and teams who go to arbitration hearings will engage in that process from Feb. 1-21 in St. Petersburg.

Tuesday marked the deadline for teams and eligible players to submit arbitration figures.

Players that avoided salary arbitration:

  • Phil Hughes agreed to a one-year deal on Monday worth $3.2 million plus performance bonuses.
  • Joba Chamberlain agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract on Tuesday and will earn approximately $1.675 million.
  • David Robertson agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract on Tuesday worth $1.6 million plus $25,000 in incentives.

In 2011, Phil Hughes earned $2.7 million; Joba Chamberlain - $1.4 million; and David Roberston - $460,450.
