Yankees Brett Gardner activated from DL

Yankees activated OF Brett Gardner from the 60-day disabled list.

Gardner has only appeared in 9 games this season due to an elbow strain. He will be available down the stretch off the Yankees bench as a defensive replacement and pinch runner. Gardner is on the bench tonight and available if the Yankees need him. Don't discount how valuable a pinch runner could be down the stretch or in the playoffs. I think we all remember that SOB, Dave Roberts.

Glad his speed is back in the dugout, and gives the Yankees a late game weapon on the base bathes.
