New York Yankees 3 -- Philadelphia Phillies 9

Michael Pineda made his Yankees debut in today's 9-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The 6'7" right-handed pitcher that was acquired in the offseason for top prospect Jesus Montero pitched 2 scoreless innings and allowed just 1 hit while striking out 2. His strikeout of Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino is notable for being on a changeup, the weakest of Pineda's 3 pitches (fastball, slider, changeup).

Eduardo Nunez was hit in the hand in the 5th inning but the x-rays were negative and hopes that he doesn't have to miss more than a couple days.

The downfall for the Yankees came on a 6-run 6th inning when minor league signed right-handed pitcher Adam Miller got just one out while walking 3 and giving up 2 hits for 5 runs.

Win -Austin Hyatt (1-0)

Loss - Adam Miller (0-1)
