Jack Curry of YES Network is reporting that the New York Yankees acquired Ichiro Suzuki from the Seattle Mariners for D.J. Mitchell and Danny Faquhar. The Yankees also get undisclosed cash in deal.
With Gardner out for the season, Ichiro becomes the Gardner-type the Yankees had been lacking. Offers speed and defense. Could be revived in New York.
In 95 games this year, Suzuki is batting .261 with 15 doubles, 5 triples, 4 home runs and 28 RBI's.
