The Yankees released their Opening Day roster on Sunday, and it includes a 20 percent turnover just from the beginning of spring training. Among the new faces that we will see on Opening Day are RHP Shawn Kelley, 1B Lyle Overbay, and OFs Brennan Boesch, Vernon Wells, and Ben Francisco.
To add Overbay to the 40-man roster, the team designated LHP Clay Rapada for assignment. Earlier this week, the team designated RHP David Aardsma for assignment and outrighted RHP Sam Demel off the roster. The Yankees had also released IF David Adams to make room on the 40-man roster.
