Aroldis Chapman lands on 10-day DL
The Yankees have announced that closer Aroldis Chapman has been placed on the 10-day disabled list due to rotator cuff inflammation in his left shoulder. The move is retroactive to May 13. A MRI revealed no structural damage.
Chapman struggled over his last two outings, surrendering three hits and an earned run in Friday night’s 5-1 loss to the Astros. On May 7 against the Cubs, he gave up three earned runs on three hits and blew the save in 2/3 of an inning.
In 14 appearances this season, the flamethrower has seven saves with a 3.55 ERA and 21 strikeouts.

In a corresponding move, RHP Chad Green was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Rob Refsnyder will also be called up for the second game in Sunday's doubleheader.
Expect Dellin Betances to slide into the 9th while Chapman is out.
