ICYMI: Baseball Movie March Madness Sweet Sixteen match-ups and results. As the dust slowly settles from the madness that was the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, we are nearing an answer to the all important question - what is the best baseball movie ever? Here were the Elite Eight match-ups. Thanks to everybody who voted and joined the conversation on Twitter. Even if you disagree with my taste in movies (Summer Catch), it was still fun to discuss. #MovieMarchMadness

The surprising run by 42 has come to an end, but it did not go quietly. Moneyball - which did earn an Oscar nomination for Picture of the Year - was too much movie to overcome. I am still shocked by how much love 42 received, which makes me think I need to go back and watch it again. The Kevin Costner Division Championship (1) Field of Dreams v (2) Bull Durham
Elite Eight matchup - for the Costner Division title: what is the better baseball movie? #MarchMovieMadness — Bronx Pinstripes (@BronxPinstripes) March 21, 2016
Two heavyweights that met way too early in the tournament, but a champion of the Costner Division had to be crowned. Field of Dreams proved to be stronger than Bull Durham in all facets of the game - from nostalgia, to mystery, to storyline. FoD proving why its the number 1 overall seed in this tourney.

The Kids Movie Division Championship (1) The Sandlot v (2) Angels in the Outfield
Elite Eight matchup - Kids Movie Division. What is the better baseball movie? #MarchMovieMadness — Bronx Pinstripes (@BronxPinstripes) March 21, 2016
Its a rout! Angels never even stood a chance. I have stated time and time again that Angels in the Outfield was my favorite baseball movie growing up, but I cannot deny Sandlot's greatness. I feel like we're witnessing a Golden State Warriors situations with the Sandlot here... just waiting for the inevitable. On a different note, Wendy Peffercorn does not get enough credit for being the bombshell that she was. (It's ok because that is 12 year old me talking.)
The Comedy & RomCom Division Championship (1) Major League v (2) A League of Their Own
Elite Eight matchup - Comedy and RomCom Division. What is the better baseball movie? #MovieMarchMadness

Another 1 seed advancing makes me think I did a pretty awesome job ranking these movies. ALOTO was the hot movie in the tournament this past week but it finished juuuuuuust a bit outside the Final Four. https://youtu.be/utfkOFia0wE?t=18 That brings us to two epic match-ups in the Final Four. Voting will start tonight and results will be announced on Friday. #MovieMarchMadness
