Brendan Ryan returns from injury
The Yankees have announced infielder Brendan Ryan has returned from his calf injury he suffered April 1st, along with a weightlifting injury that occurred earlier in the year. He's batted .250 in his rehab assignments in the minors. Ramon Flores was sent down to make room on the 25-man roster. Ryan will likely join Didi Gregorius as a lefty/righty platoon at shortstop. Ryan is considered to be one of the best defensive shortstops in all of baseball. He can play second as well, and has even played third. Flores hit .269 over eight games while playing outstanding defense in the outfield. Garrett Jones will now become the extra outfielder.
