Bronx Bombers home run alert
Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. One swing of the bat by Mark Teixeira served as the Yanks offense, in a 2-1 loss at the Miami Marlins. New York only notched three hits because baseball is somehow better served and more entertaining by virtue of having a pitcher bat and a guy with 666 home runs on the bench. Ah but I digress.
During the second stanza, Teixeira's tater jumped the Yanks off the mat. Tex's solo shot off a 3-1 pitch from Tom Koehler, to right-center, gave New York a 1-0 edge. Teixeira has 18 round trippers on the season, tied for tops in the AL. Teixeira has 381 homers on his career and 178 with the Yankees.
On the season the Bronx Bombers have 79 home runs, fourth most in major-league baseball.
