Bullpen carries Yankees to win over Nats
WASHINGTON -- After dropping their resumed game earlier in the day, the Yankees left Washington with a split, as they defeated the Nationals, 4-2, at Nationals Park.
Sonny Gray was steady, giving up just two earned runs, but it was the Yankee bullpen that once again took the spotlight.
Jonathan Holder,David Robertson, Dellin Betances, and Aroldis Chapman all completely shutdown the National offense, striking out a whopping eight batters in their four innings of work. It was Chapman's 21st save of the season.

As for the offense, the Yankees got just enough against starter Erick Fedde.
Giancarlo Stanton, who had four hits, drove in the game's first run in the opening frame with a single. Though the Nats would then take a 2-1 lead over the next few innings, New York took the lead and did not look back.
In the fifth, with Gray on base, Aaron Hicks drove a ball out of the park to give the Yankees the 3-2 advantage. While the pair's celebration at home was not on point, New York gladly took the lead.

Stanton would then give the Yankees insurance in the seventh, with a double that would drive in Clint Frazier, who was just today called up from Scranton.
Though that would be all they scored, it was more than enough for the team's 47th victory of the season.
Domingo German will face Marco Gonzales tomorrow, as the Yankees begin a series with the red-hot Seattle Mariners.
Current Yankees Record: 47-22
