David Robertson nominated for Marvin Miller Man of the Year award
David Robertson's signature high socks aren't just a fashion statement on the field. Off the field, his high socks symbolize hope as he donates time, supplies and furniture via his "High Socks For Hope" foundation.
On Tuesday, Robertson's efforts were acknowledged by Major League Baseball when he was the Yankees nominee for the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award. Along with "High Socks For Hope", Robertson is involved in "Rick's Fund", which honors Erin's late father Rick by bringing awareness to pancreatic cancer.
The 2017 division finalists chosen by the fans will appear on the final ballot on September 19th, which is when Major League baseball players will have their vote. The Player's Choice Awards winners will be announced in November, and the winner will receive $335,000 to distribute to a charity of their choice. All 30 nominees of the Marvin Miller Man of the Year will receive $2,500 to distribute to a charity of their choice.
Fan voting ends on September 17 at midnight. To vote for Robertson, please click here.
