Ellsbury and Headley out today due to sore backs
Jacoby Ellsbury will have the night off after crashing hard into the wall yesterday, resulting in a sore back. He may be available in emergency if the Yankees need him off of the bench. Chase Headley will also have the night off with a sore back. Ellsbury will go through his pre-game workouts and could be available off the bench.

The 32-year-old Ellsbury is hitting .261 with seven long balls and 33 runs batted in during a 2015 campaign that has seen the speedy center fielder land on the DL with knee issues. Headley, 31, has a slashline of .262/.326/.374 this year will 11 homeruns and has drove in 62 runs. The third baseman has been stable in the Yankees lineup, starting in 153 games this year, his most since 2012. Ellsbury and Headley are both high-priced players the Yankees signed to long-term deals as Ellsbury was signed before the 2014 season. The Yankees traded for Headley during the 2014 campaign and signed him to a four year deal this past offseason. The Yankees are back in action this evening as they take on the rival Boston Red Sox. The Bronx Bombers are looking to avoid their first four game sweep at home against the BoSox since 1939. The Yanks are also one win away from reaching 10,000 wins in franchise history.
