Jorge Posada: Aaron Judge is 'Yankees first,' just like Derek Jeter
It's been a little over two decades since the Yankees' prestigious "Core Four" of homegrown prospects Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada made their major league debuts in the Bronx. And by the time those four beloved players called it quits, New York had secured five world championships under their command from 1996 until 2009. So, could the latest crop of Yankee farmhands one day form a dynasty of their own? Posada's crossing his fingers. “I would love to,” the former Yankee catcher said of his hope a Core Four 2.0 (Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Clint Frazier, etc.) develops to Christian Red of the New York Daily News on Thursday. “We got lucky. We were very lucky to be in the right time, the right place, winning, so hopefully they can do the same thing.” According to Red's report, Posada spoke highly of Aaron Judge, commending the way the 25-year-old rookie handles himself on and off field. “What I see from the TV, outside of the game, the way [Judge] talks, it’s Yankees first,” said Posada. “Jeter was like that, ‘We want to win first,’ and all about the team.” If you want to connect with Tom Hanslin, email him at thanslin@gmail.com or follow him on Twitter @tomhanslin.
