Luis Severino to make rehab start
As the Yankees finish up their road trip Sunday afternoon, the team received good news on the Luis Severino front. The young pitcher played catch on flat ground Saturday and is in line to make his first rehab start next Sunday.

He will throw a bullpen on Tuesday in preparation for Sunday. Severino has been on the disabled list since May 13 when he injured his groin in a start. The 22-year-old is struggling mightily this season. Severino is 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA in seven starts on the young season. In his absence, Ivan Nova has carried his weight, making two starts in which he only gave up one run in each. It has been said that Severino is not guaranteed a spot in the rotation once he is fully healthy. If Nova continues to perform well, along with CC Sabathia, the Yankees might be hard pressed to leave the hot hands in the rotation. All of the Yankees minor league affiliates will be on the road on Sunday so it will be interesting to see where they place Severino. With Severino on the comeback trail, the Yankees need to make a decision about who the odd man out in the rotation will be.
