MLB releases Yankees' regular season schedule for 2018
On Tuesday afternoon, Major League Baseball released 2018 regular season schedules for all 30 clubs. For the first time since 2003, the Yankees will open the year in Toronto, on March 29.
Here are some notable series and matchups on tap for New York next year:
-Opening Day at Toronto Blue Jays (March 29-April 1).
-Home Opener vs. Tampa Bay Rays (April 2-4).
-Yankees close out regular season at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox (September 28-30).
-Three series at Yankee Stadium against Boston (May 8-10, June 28-July 1, September 18-20), and three on the road at Fenway Park (April 10-12, August 2-5, September 28-30).
-Subway Series between the Yankees and New York Mets will include two three-game sets (Yankee Stadium: July 20-22, Citi Field: June 8-10).
-Yankees will face all five National League East teams in Interleague play. In a 2009 World Series rematch, the Yankees will visit the Philadelphia Phillies from June 25-27. Other series include the Washington Nationals (May 15-16, June 12-13), the Miami Marlins (April 16-17, August 21-22) and the Atlanta Braves (July 2-4).
-Yankees will have anniversaries for five world championship teams (1928, 1938, 1958, 1978, 1998).
-Yankees will have two 10-game home stands (April 16-26, August 9-19). Their longest road trip will also be 10 games (July 6-15). Major League Baseball's All-Star break begins July 16 (All-Star Game on July 17 at Nationals Park).
The following holidays will see the Yankees at home: Mother's Day (May 13) against the Oakland Athletics, Father's Day (June 17) against the Rays, and a Fourth of July against the Braves.
