The big man is staying put in the Bronx. According to a report, CC Sabathia will re-sign with the New York Yankees. The deal will keep the veteran lefty in pinstripes for the 2018 season.
First reported by Mark Feinsand, the contract is for one-year and $10 million dollars, pending a physical.
His agent Kyle Thousand telling MLB.com, "CC feels there's unfinished business to attend to. There were competitive offers that CC was weighing but in the end, CC wanted to come back and win a championship with the Yankees."

Bringing back Sabathia on those terms appears to be a hometown discount, keeping the club well under their payroll tax goals. In retaining Sabathia, the Yankees keep a great clubhouse guy with a big presence, who knows how to pitch in big games. The move also adds depth to the rotation.
The longest-tenured Yankees starting pitcher, "Dub" posted a ledger of 14-5 with a 3.69 ERA, and 120 strikeouts in 148.2 innings pitched, across 27 starts in 2017. During the postseason, the crafty Sabathia outdueled Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians, fanning 14 across two outings against his former team in the ALDS. In two ALCS starts against the Houston Astros, Sabathia pitched to a 0.96 ERA.
The 37-year-old will enter his tenth season in the Bronx and look to add to a pinstriped resume which includes 120 victories, 1,453 strikeouts, three All-Star appearances, a 2009 ALCS MVP Award and a 2009 World Series title.
