Series Recap: Yankees flush Royals in makeup victory
It only took five months later but the New York Yankees finished off their series with the Kansas City Royals, taking three of four games at Yankee Stadium. In fact, when this series started, Michael Pineda earned the victory in the opener. Their matinee makeup was a nice bounce back and an 11-3 win.

ALL RISE
Aaron Judge is so nice he hit 50 twice! In a spectacular September, where he's hitting .296 with 13 home runs, the Bronx Bombers rookie cemented his place in the record books once again.

With the Yankees ahead 1-0 in the third inning, Judge swatted a Jake Junis offering into the right-field bleachers for home run No. 49 on the campaign, tying a major-league baseball rookie record. The home run also gave Judge a round-tripper against all 14 AL opponents this season.

Judge wasn't even close to being finished facing Trevor Cahill in the seventh inning. Judge crushed a solo bomb to left for home run No. 50 on the year, increasing the New York lead to 7-3. In doing so he set the all-time MLB rookie record as the only rookie to ever hit 50 in a season, became the fifth Yankees player to blast 50 in a season and with home run No. 13 in September sets a Yankees rookie record for home runs in a month.

All of this comes as Judge also earned AL Player of the Week honors.

APPLE CORE
How cool is it to consider we're witnessing the modern day M&M Boys in Judge and Gary Sanchez? The two have 83 home runs combined this season, which is the most by a pair of teammates since Roger Maris (61) and Mickey Mantle (54) in 1961.

El Gary hopped on the home run train one pitch after Judge's record breaker, belting No. 33 on the season. It was all part of a three-hit afternoon for Sanchez, who also threw out a runner at second base earlier in the contest.
Also getting in on the home run act was Greg Bird, blasting one into the upper deck against Junis during the sixth inning.
Didi Gregorius also shined with three hits, two-RBI and some run-saving defense at shortstop in the fourth inning.
It was an electric day for an offense which also saw Ronald Torreyes notch three hits, Matt Holliday garner two-RBI and Brett Gardner score three runs.
STOPPER SABATHIA SOLID START
CC Sabathia provided the Yankees with another stellar start following a loss. The veteran southpaw tied Whitey Ford on the all-time wins list with No. 236 on his career. Sabathia went six scoreless before yielding a pair of home runs in the seventh.
PROLIFIC PEN
Laying on the finishing touches, Chad Green, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle shut down the Royals lineup for good past the seventh. The three combined for three scoreless frames and six K's.
