Starlin Castro out of starting lineup after emergency root canal
If the Yankees plan to defeat the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of this four-game set, they're going to have to do it without second baseman Starlin Castro. Prior to Saturday afternoon's contest, the Yankees announced Castro was scratched from the starting lineup after undergoing an emergency root canal at the dentist.

Castro lost his tooth last night and was unable to sleep. After a sleepless night, the second baseman ended up going to the dentist, and he was still there when the Yankees announced the last minute scratch. Castro is expected to be in the clubhouse during the game and is a pinch-hitting option for Joe Girardi.
