Tanaka struggles as Yankees fall to Rangers
NEW YORK -- While the Yankees had been on a bit of a roll lately, the Texas Rangers quickly ended New York's four-game winning streak, with a 12-7 win at Yankee Stadium.
Masahiro Tanaka gave up six runs in the loss, marking his first recorded loss in almost four months. Just as usual when Tanaka struggles, it was the long ball, three of them to be exact, that haunted him in this start.
With the right-hander keeping Texas at bay early, Adrian Beltre jolted the Rangers with a two-run dinger in the fourth. Ronald Guzman then hit the first of his three home runs in the night, later in the frame.
After an Elvis Andrus RBI-double drove in two more in the top of the fifth, New York finally got on the board with a Brett Gardner solo home run in the bottom half.

Texas, however, continued to pour it on with four runs against A.J. Cole and another two off of Chad Green.
New York tried rallying with three runs in the sixth, highlighted by a Luke Voit single, but it was to no avail.

The lead the Rangers had built became too big for the Bombers to overcome, as the home team bowed out 12-7.
A day after belting two homers, Neil Walker was out of the lineup tonight due to an illness. Essentially, Voit took his place, manning first base.
Lance Lynn faces Drew Hutchison in tomorrow's early game.
