Locastro was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft out of Ithaca College. The Auburn, New York native has spent six seasons between the Blue Jays and Dodgers, posting a slash line of .291/.375/.401 in 602 career games. In 2017, Locastro made his big league debut with the Dodgers. Over the past two seasons, the right-handed hitting outfielder has appeared in 21 big league games. The 26-year-old is versatile, which could make him valuable for the Yankees. Locastro has the ability to play all three outfield positions, and also has had some playing time at second base and shortstop throughout his minor league career. In exchange for Locastro, the Yankees will send Drew Finley and cash considerations to the Dodgers. Finley was selected by the Yankees in the third round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft. Over his four-year professional career, the 22-year-old has posted a 2-11 record with a 5.48 ERA over 42 appearances. He has served mostly as a reliever during his time as a Yankees prospect.
