Yankees dominate Red Sox in series opener
NEW YORK -- The Yankees opened a big three-game set against the Boston Red Sox with a dominant 8-1 victory over their rivals, at Yankee Stadium.
CC Sabathia was outstanding in tonight's start, giving up just one run on six hits in a strong seven-inning performance. He also struck out five Boston batters in the victory.
As for the Yankee bats, they got all they wanted versus lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, who gave up five runs.
Miguel Andujar, who had three hits in the win, opened the scoring with an RBI-single in the second that drove in Gleyber Torres, who reached on his first career triple.
In the fourth, New York added four more runs to its lead.
Torres drove in the frame's first run with a sac fly, while Andujar hit a two-run home run to extend the lead to 4-0. The struggling Greg Bird then hit a long ball of his own to make the lead five runs.

Though Andrew Benintendi drove in the first Red Sox run in the fifth, that would be all they would get against Sabathia and the Yankee bullpen.
Facing Justin Haley, Aaron Judge put the game finally out of reach with the team's second two-run homer of the day in the seventh.
