Yankees to hold press conference with Alex Rodriguez Sunday morning
Over the last few weeks, there's been constant rumors surrounding Alex Rodriguez and questions about what the Yankees should do with him now that the organization is in a rebuild. On Sunday morning, those questions will be answered as the team has scheduled a press conference with their 41-year-old DH. General Manager Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi will be in attendance as well. No word has leaked yet on the nature of the press conference, but in all likelihood it will be about a contract buyout and/or a retirement announcement. It's been a difficult season for A-Rod, who's hitting .204/.252/.356 with nine homers and 29 RBI in 62 games. He's had just two at-bats since July 31, and hasn't even played against left-handed pitchers. Stay tuned for more updates, especially tomorrow morning. The press conference is set to take place from the Yankee Stadium conference room at 11 am.
No reason was given for the Alex Rodriguez press conference tomorrow, but I think we can guess. Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi will attend.
