Prior to being called up, both players were on the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre roster. The RailRiders lost to the Durham Bulls in the International League Championship Series, which ended on Friday night. It didn't take long for the Yankees to add these two players to their big league roster. Andujar, 22, spent time in Double-A and Triple-A this season. Over 125 games, the third baseman posted a slash line of .315/.352/.498. The promising young prospect also got a slight taste of the big leagues as well. On June 28, Andujar picked up three hits against the Chicago White Sox in his Major League debut. His four RBIs in the game set a franchise record for most for any Yankees player in their big league debut. Although he had an outstanding debut, that game is the only one that Andujar has played with the big league club thus far. Now that he is back on the roster, Girardi has another explosive right-handed bat at his disposal off the bench. Holder, 24, has split time between the Major Leagues and Triple-A this season. He has seen the majority of his work in pinstripes, appearing in 34 games for the Bronx Bombers. Over 37.2 innings pitched, Holder has posted a 1-1 record with a 3.58 ERA. The call-up of Holder provides manager Joe Girardi with another quality arm that he can rely on out of the bullpen. As Girardi relies heavily on his bullpen, Holder could become a very valuable weapon for him down the stretch. On Saturday afternoon, the Yankees will take on the Baltimore Orioles in the second game of a four-game set at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 PM EST.
