Yankees reinstate Gary Sanchez from DL
When the Yankees begin the second-half of the 2018 season on Friday night, they'll have a bit of a power boost from the middle of the order. The team announced they have reinstated Gary Sanchez from the disabled list. As a corresponding move, they optioned Kyle Higashioka to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Today the @Yankees returned from rehab and reinstated C Gary Sánchez from the 10-day disabled list and optioned C Kyle Higashioka to @swbrailriders.

Sanchez was placed on the disabled list on June 4 while running out a double play grounder during a 7-6 12 inning loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. In Sanchez's absence, the Yankees turned to Austin Romine to fill the vacated position. Sanchez hopes to have a more productive second half of the season. In 63 games, the 25-year-old is hitting .190/.291/.433 with 14 homers and 41 RB1. He is expected to be in the starting lineup against the crosstown rival New York Mets.
