via Bryan Hoch - Yankees closer Mariano Rivera has set June 12 as the date for the surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Rivera, 42, said on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium that he is having no further issues with the blood clot in his right calf, which cleared up last week. He said that Dr. David Altchek will perform the surgery in New York.

Rivera said that he believes he will return to pitching in the Major Leagues in 2013.

"Oh yeah, there's no doubt about that," Rivera said. "I always believe in miracles."
