Aaron Hicks activated from DL
The Yankees will deepen their lineup as outfielder Aaron Hicks has been reinstated from the 10-day disabled list. Hicks went down in early September with a left oblique strain, a few months after he missed time with a right oblique strain.

Hicks started the season off hot, hitting .290 with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs before the All-Star break. Since then, he has been plagued with injuries and has struggled to get re-acclamated in the batters box. Hicks has hit a mere .207 in August and September, but Yankee execs and fans are hopeful he will regain his early season form. In Hicks' absence, Jacoby Ellsbury has been tearing it up. He's hitting .361 in September with 18 runs and five stolen bases. Ellsbury was demoted to the fourth-outfielder role earlier this season after being outplayed by Hicks and the other outfielders. However, Ellsbury's recent play tells us that he plans to keep his starting job. Brett Gardner has been relatively hot lately as well, hitting .286 this month with 12 runs and nine RBIs. Oh, and there's also this Aaron Judge guy out here casually breaking records. The Yankee outfield is clicking on all cylinders, so Hicks' immediate role is unclear. But having four outfielders successfully competing for three jobs is a good problem to have.
